Fine Wine Fete Nets $22K for Scholarships

The 6th annual Taste of Fine Wine, Arts & Ale was held on Friday, March 30. The event featured a wine and beer tasting of over 50 different wines and beers, a student art show, and live and silent auctions with donations from employees, alumni, and friends of the College.

The event raised over $22,000 for SCC Foundation scholarships and college projects.

“Even in this challenging economy, so many generous donors and patrons helped us achieve our goal,” said Foundation Board Chair, Terri Dowell.

The 7th annual event is scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Pzazz! Event Center in Burlington.

Join the SCC Alumni Association for its 17th Annual Golf Outing to be held on Friday, July 20 at Sheaffer Golf Course.

The day begins with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start and features on-course games of chance and contests. The day ends with an awards banquet.

The fee is $65 per person and includes dinner, on-course beverages, prizes and a chance to win $10,000.
Team, hole, carts and flag sponsorships are available.

Proceeds from the golf outing fund SCC’s Distinguished Alumni Awards, scholarships and mini-grants for special college projects.

SCCAA Golf Outing Nets $11k for scholarships, grants

Welcome!

Thirty six teams and several hundred generous donors helped net over $11,000 for alumni scholarships, college mini-grants and Distinguished Alumni Awards at the 16th Annual SCC Alumni Association Golf Outing on Friday, July 15.

Congratulations to the winners in all three flights in the 2011 event! 

Always the 3rd Friday in July at Sheaffer Golf Course near Fort Madison, Iowa, the event included prizes for all players and food from the new Aggies on the Greens restaurant. We can happily report more flag and team sponsors than ever before and a team waiting list for the third year in a row!

Birdies for Charity Pledges Support SCCAA

A Birdies for Charity pledge provides a painless way to support the SCCAA. All it takes is a pledge of 1¢ or more per birdie to be made at the 2012 John Deere Classic. If you guess the number of birdies to be made in 2012 - you might win a car or other great prizes! If you choose to complete the form and return it to SCCAA (1500 W. Agency Road, West Burlington, IA 52655), JDC’s Birdies for Charity staff will invoice you next July 2012! 100% of the paid pledges come back to the SCCAA!

 

Financial Fitness Event

Build your financial biceps and make better financial decisions. Attend the Financial Fitness Workshop on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Pzazz! Event Center. Entry fee of $15 includes lunch with national speaker, two healthy snack breaks, choice of 4 out of 6 seminar sessions with local experts, a combined panel discussion with Q & A, goody bag and door prizes.

A Taste of Fine Wine Arts and Ale returns

Mark your calendar for the SCC Foundation’s sixth annual Taste of Fine Wine, Arts and Ale. The event will take place on March 30, 2012, at the Pzazz! Event Center. It will feature a wine and beer tasting from an estimated 10 to 12  purveyors. Silent and live auction items will include gifts and talents from SCC employees, alumni and friends of SCC.

“People really look forward to this event. We’re able to showcase some great aspects of the College as well as raise over $21,000 for scholarships and programs,” notes Foundation Executive Director Becky Rump.
