Sorry, To all you BLACKHAWKS fans I was on a short hiatus and its good to be back.
A little rundown on what has been happening since I talked to you last. Currently the Blackhawks have an overall record of 10 wins and 15 losses and 6 wins and 7 losses in the conference. The Hawks are currently in fifth place in the conference standings.
Big win last nite for the Hawks as they travelled to Creston. Final score was Hawks 74 and Southwestern 61. Great effort by the Lady Hawks.
HAWKS WIN
Last nite our Lady Hawks came out with a lot of enthusiasm and played with a great amount of intensity and passion which resulted in a great start to the game. At the 10 minute mark the Hawks led 16 to 9 behind the shooting of Shaniqua Roberts and Dallas Young, the inside post play of Katie Flanary and Lauren Crowell, and the point guard play of Gabbie Binion who dished out four assists.
Southwestern closed out the half on a 14 to 6 run and the hawks led 33 t 32 at intermission.
In the second half the Hawks outscored Southwestern 41 to 29 behind Roberts 17 points and Flanary's and Binions 9 points, Lauren Crowell and Terrey'a Hymon had 4 rebounds, Dallas Young and Miah Madison had 2 steals, Tachandrae Turner and Danielle Caldwell also had 3 assists in the second half.
Next game for the Blackhawks is Saturday February 13th at AIB in Des Moines. Game time is set for 2:00pm.
