Darcy Nelson is the seventh new recruit to sign on with the Blackhawks for the 2010 season. Nelson is a 5'8" middle hitter from Lake Mills, Iowa. She played under head coach, Jim Boehmer. Her list of accomplishments include KIMT & KIOW & Globe Gazetter STudent Athlete of the Week, NIC 2nd Team all-conferenc as a junior, Unanimous NIC 1st Team and Player of the Year during her senior season. She also is a standout on the track a state qualifier placing 2nd in the 4x400 her freshman year.
Coach Reid had this to say about Darcy, "This student-athlete is a great pick-up for this late in the recruiting season. She may not be a huge middle in height, but she can jump and she plays smart. That will be the advantage for Darcy. She just loves to play the game and she is going to be a great fit for our program."
